I had the opportunity to catch up with Maria and David after their return from NYC. I found them in the lobby of their hotel, where they were both spending the weekend, and they were both smiling. I’m not sure what possessed me to be so enthusiastic in bringing up their recent trip, but, I’m glad I did.
This will be their second time in a year seeing people from other countries, and their first after being in New York for several weeks. I was very happy to see that they were both so well adjusted after their long winter break.
David was born and raised in Spain, and Maria was born and raised in Mexico. They both like to speak their native languages and are very outgoing. These two have such a great bond that I think they have been trying to figure out how to express that for a long time. They’re both very open and honest and have been going back to Spain for the past year, and they were both very gracious and accepting of the media coverage that Maria had to endure.
