We all know that we have many identities, but it is easy to be distracted by others because they are closer to our hearts.
In the case of self-circumspection, we are often so caught up in our own experiences that we tend to believe that we have a very solid, unchanging identity. We don’t seem to be able to distinguish reality from the outside world and so we believe that we are who we say we are and that we should be treated accordingly. The fact is, I think about this a lot.

She said that her identity had become the same as her skin because she had been wearing her legs for so long that they had become her.
