My parents and I lived in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands for three years when I was a kid. We always had a pretty good laugh about how St. Thomas was the only place in the United States where the American flag flying from the tallest building was not frowned upon.
I guess having a place like St. Thomas to call home is pretty important. It’s also pretty important that when you’re living in a place like that, you have to be able to talk about it and be proud of it.
