I have known for a few years that I was going through withdrawal symptoms from my high-dose levothyroxine medication. I had tried them when I was pregnant and had been able to keep them under control, but I decided to skip the “new” version in favor of a more familiar version (the more familiar being the older version). I have never regretted that decision. The side effects have been mild, and I have been able to tolerate the medication.
When the medication is overused, it can have unpleasant side effects. I haven’t had any withdrawals, but I have had a few minor ones, which I am now taking care of with the help of my primary doctor. I now think my body is capable of handling more than two grams of levothyroxine a day without too much trouble.
I know that it is rare for people to ever become completely “normal” with this medication, but I think it’s worth it to take the time to figure out what works best for your unique situation. I would guess that the “normal” of the typical levothyroxine user is less than six grams of the drug a day.
This is really good news, but I’m still not at 100% yet. I’m still taking about five grams of levothyroxine a day (at the time of this writing) and it doesn’t seem to have any effect on my mood or my energy levels. I’d love to hear your experiences with levothyroxine.
I’m taking about 2.5 grams of levothyroxine a day and my depression/manic depressive symptoms seem to be decreasing. I’m not sure why, but I’m feeling less depressed (and I’m not talking about my mood as much). I’m glad to hear that the Levothyroxine is working for you and that you’re finally feeling better.
My two cents: I don’t know about depression, but I took a week off work in 2005 and I’m still the same person I was in 2005. I don’t know about the levothyroxine, but I took two weeks off work in 2005 and I’m still the same person I was in 2005. I don’t know if levothyroxine is working for you, but I took two weeks off work in 2005 and I’m still the same person I was in 2005.
I don’t have any experience with levothyroxine, but I do know that it can be a dangerous drug to take. It should only be used in the supervision of a doctor. Your doctor may have prescribed this drug to you. I hope that you are using a good one.
Levothyroxine is a thyroid hormone. There are several forms, some of which may be more dangerous than others. It is also important to know that the form you are using must be safe for you. For example, the form you are taking is not the same as the form with which you were prescribed. Do not take any form of levothyroxine without talking with your doctor.
This drug is very dangerous to be taking at all. It is not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for use by people with a condition called “severe primary hyperthyroidism.” So if you have this condition, you should not be taking levothyroxine. The form you are taking is not the same as the form your doctor has prescribed.
Again, we are talking about a drug that is potentially fatal and therefore should not be taken at all. Take it with a doctor’s advice.
