I didn’t even know that this place existed. It was a short drive away from my work, but didn’t take more than a minute to drive there. The clubhouse was also a short drive away from my work. I’m proud to be a member of this club.
The club itself was a little sad to see it go, but they were a good bunch of people.
Just a few weeks ago, the club announced that they were closing down and moving their operations to a different location. The only reason for their closure is because “they’re having health issues”, but there is a club here in my area that is not quite as bad.
The club at my work is the same company that owns the club here in the same city, and it seems like they have been around for quite some time. It just seems like they are getting older, or at least the owners are.
I see the same thing happen to a lot of small/local businesses here in the city. It’s not just that they’re aging, but the owners are getting older. It’s like the owner of the local bakery says to the owner of the local men’s club that there is no bread from him in his fridge, but he has two slices of bread in his freezer.
The more we grow up the further we’re from our ancestors, so the more we forget who our ancestors were. It is this forgetting that is the cause of much of the stress of life, because it seems like our ancestors were able to pass down their knowledge (their skills) to us without the stress of wondering if our ancestor knew it was ok to kill a person or did not know about a certain type of weapon.
As we are all aware, our ancestors were known for being much more technologically advanced than us in the past, but in the age of the Internet, we do not feel that way. We do not feel that our ancestors were any better at the whole “gathering information” than we are today. We do not feel that our ancestors knew what was acceptable to do with our life.
They may have thought it was just a social gathering, but when we look back on this, we realize that it was much more. We feel that way today about all of our technological advances. We feel that the internet allows us to do things that we weren’t capable of doing in the past. For example, instead of sitting around our rooms playing video games, we can now go out and buy a game. We do not feel that we’re better than our ancestors in this respect.
While those were the sorts of things that we did with our technology, there were other things we did with them that were far beyond what we were capable of. The internet allowed us to share ideas, organize ourselves and even communicate with each other in very different ways than we had done before.
