I was the first person to ever give dan jinx a rating on this blog. I’ve decided, though, that it has been a great learning experience for me. What I like best about dan jinx is the honesty of his writing. He is not afraid to admit that he is wrong. The truth, though, is that there is no way to learn about anything if you don’t know what it is.
Dan Johnson himself has given Dan Jinx a total of 1.5 stars. It’s not perfect, but it’s worth it.
Dan Johnson is the man behind the Dan Jinx blog. Ive known dan for a while now, and Ive had the chance to chat with him a couple of times. We are both big fans of the genre of ‘dark’ video games, especially the zombie games. The other day I asked him about his new game, “Deathloop”, and he immediately started talking about Dan Jinx.
Dan Jinx is a video game writer who currently works at Gamespot. Since he is also the author of a book that I highly recommend, I asked him how Deathloop has influenced his own writing.
Dan makes an amazing point in a post that I’ve shared, “The one thing that I have learned while writing is that you can’t play Deadmansion, or anything else like that. The biggest thing it takes to get the game to even run on a PC is to understand that the games are really good, and even if you can’t think of any other way to play them, it still makes sense.
Well, it makes sense because it’s a game from a game company. And that’s the point. They are not just making a game, or a video game, they are creating something that is more meaningful than that.
Deathloop is a game that, at its core, is an experiment in what it means to be human. I’m sure it’s not clear from the trailer, but that’s the point. Deadmansion was my first thought when I first heard of the game, it was a game about a town that had gone crazy, and was trying to figure out what the point of existence was.
I think that is true. I think it is true that you can be a human being and have a relationship with a living thing. I think that it is a game about a living thing, but it is also a game about what you can do as a player. You have the ability to be a human being.

The thing about Deathloop is that it is not, and never has been, a game about one particular human being. It is a game about the relationships that happen between the living things that are in the game, and the living things that aren’t. The game is about your choices, and your choices are not limited to being a human, or a human with a relationship with a living thing.
