Because sometimes people do hurt us. Some we never do the same thing that they do, but still, when we do, we have to be careful. If we don’t, we can be hurt.

For example, I was talking to this girl this week, and she said that she had been feeling hurt by a stranger at the mall. She asked me if she was just talking to me because she didn’t want me to say anything to hurt her. I told her I was sorry, and that it was okay. And I was so happy to see the light come back on her face that I told her I liked her, and she said, I can totally feel that.

This is a very common mistake that folks make, and they are often not aware that they are doing it. When we are hurt, it is easy to feel like we can hurt someone else. This is a great example of this. I know that I have hurt someone else. I know that I have been hurt. But I am not going to force someone to talk to me when they are not ready. I will only do it when I am ready to do it.
