The recommendation is to use magnesium in a medical setting. There are no scientific studies to show that magnesium should be given to people suffering from magnesium deficiency.

And magnesium is not even recommended for people with sciatica pain. Sciatica pain is caused by nerve irritation in the sciatic nerve, which is located in the buttock area. The sciatic nerve runs from the lower back behind the sacrum to the front of the thigh and then down to the foot. The pain is usually referred to as “sciatica” because it’s caused by the sciatic nerve.
