You know my own personal mantra when it comes to making or doing anything: “Just do it, and then do it better.” So this is a case where you should be doing it and doing it better.

Or put it another way, you can’t really do it and do it really well. Most of the things that most of us need to do, we don’t bother doing.

This is the exact opposite of what most of us want to do. Most of us want to do things that are really hard for us, and the harder our activity is, the more rewarding it will be. You get the idea. You want to get stuff done, but you don’t want to do it for the sake of it. That’s what makes it so hard for us.

I know most of us would like to have more things to do. We want to do those things because theyre fun. We want to make our lives better by doing them. Thats why most of us dont do them. Thats why we get so frustrated when we do things we really want to do. We dont want to do them because theyre painful and lonely and costly but we do them because we want to.

I think these are two of the most common problems with trying to live life to the fullest. If you want to do something fun and meaningful, but can’t because of the pain and loneliness, that’s a hard problem to solve. You can’t make a meaningful life without a little pain and loneliness to balance it out. That’s why the best thing you can do when you want to do something fun is to do it for the sake of it.
