It turns out the main character of this new video game is an impatiens. That’s right, the new game from Guinevere Studios is called, “Impatiens care.” It’s a game about impatiens, which is a kind of tropical palm that blooms all the time. Now that they’re all in bloom, they’re a real nuisance, so you have to deal with them.
Imparting a bit of a bit of “guinea impatiens care” may seem like an odd choice of name for this game, but the idea is that impatiens are one of the many plants that are very easy to kill, but extremely tough to eradicate once you know what to look for. The palm tree is one of those things that can be seen as a natural marvel. Many of those species are found in the tropics, and are believed to be at least capable of self-healing. In fact, recent studies have shown that all species of palm tree have the potential to self-heal if given enough sunlight.
The palm tree species that are native to the tropics are not only found in the tropics, but are also more tolerant of drought. This is believed to be a result of the fact that the palm trees had the ability to produce their own water in the first place. So they’re able to produce more than they need, then use it to survive.
This is not to say that self-healing is a universal trait, but that it is possible for a palm tree to be able to regenerate its own leaves. I think the one palm tree I know of that does this is a cacti. Also, in an effort to prevent deforestation, many palm plantations are being converted to cacti. I have a few, but I have yet to see an example of one working in the wild. The closest I’ve seen is the water lilies that are self-healing and can regenerate themselves from seeds. Also, a couple of hours ago I read a report on another palm tree that was doing it. I think the next time we see one doing it is when it is not in the wild.
