I’d like to tell you that razors do the job of keeping cuts clean, but I’m not convinced. I’m not saying that there aren’t other more effective ways to clean cuts, but if you have a dull blade or other implements with which to do your job, you’re probably better off with a pair of scissors.
I agree. You don’t need razors to make clean cuts. But if you do have a dull blade, you can simply hold it at an angle and sweep it across the blade, or apply pressure with your fingers to get the blade clean, or use a knife or razor to sharpen the cut, or use a swab of alcohol on the cut to open it up, or use a little baby wipe to clean it up.
Sharpening a razor blade does not remove the blood from the blade. If you need to clean up a cut you simply apply a small amount of alcohol on the blade, and then wash it off with warm water. And yes, you can use a knife or razor to sharpen a cut, but for a general purpose razor cut, just use a pair of scissors or a sharp pair of tweezers (they look a lot like a razor, but they arent).
Because of the nature of the cut, even a razor isnt going to remove all of the blood from the cut. If the cut is deep enough, it will still contain blood. A small amount of alcohol on the blade will reduce the amount of blood, but its not effective in completely removing blood from the blade. It will just help the bleeding stop temporarily.
Razor bumps are basically a special case of a razor cut. A razor with a very sharp blade, for example, is very effective at removing hair from the skin, but a razor with a blunt blade would not be effective at removing any hair. The reason that a razor with a blunt blade will not remove hair is because if the blade hits the surface of the skin and cuts right through the skin as opposed to just cutting a hair, then the blood will still be present.
The most common cause of razor bumps is shaving in the shower. I don’t know if this is true for other shaving methods, but I have heard it said that shaving using a razor with a blunt blade can cause the skin to swell, and that this is what might be causing the bleeding.
This is probably why the razor with a blunt blade is the least successful method of shaving as far as ridding yourself of hair. This might be why the bleeding is more common than we would like to believe as that is after all a common cause of razor bumps.
std is what happens if you don’t use a razor in the shower. You can have a std on a few hairs that you didn’t cut. The hairs don’t bleed, but they do swell up and get red.
A razor makes it easier to shave by not having to use a blunt blade to shave, but it can also cause you to have a std. It’s something to keep in mind if you’ve got a habit of having a std.
I have to tell you, these razor bumps are not uncommon in my house. And I have two girls who, on the rare occasion, have shown me their razor bumps. One was a complete mystery to me, and the other girl who showed me her razor bumps was in the bathroom at 2am when the bathroom door was locked, and I had to turn on the lights.
