The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services has announced that their new foster care stipend grant program is for the 2020/2021 fiscal year. The stipend grants will be targeted to foster families in the state of North Carolina who are at risk of losing their children to foster care.
This program helps to address the state’s high rate of foster care dependency, which is the number one cause of youth homelessness and child abuse. The number of children placed in foster care each year has doubled over the last decade and is projected to continue rising.
One of the problems with foster care is that it is a very expensive system to run. While I’m not sure how much money the new foster care stipend program will do to help the state save money, I do know that it has the potential to help. The program was started due to the fact that North Carolina has one of the highest rates of foster care dependency in the country. As of 2011, there were 5,000 children in foster care.
The program is funded through a grant to the state. There are several criteria that must be met before the state grants $3,000 to support a caretaker. This includes things such as: the state’s goal to be “sustainable,” the caretaker’s desire and willingness to work with a county to accomplish the goal, the caretaker’s ability to financially support herself and the caretaker’s lack of criminal history.
Well, now the state wants to test the limits of this program by asking for money every year for the next 15 years to be used for the state to pay the caretakers to come to a halfway house and work. I’m not sure the program will be sustainable as the cost for the caretaker goes up each year and the caretaker’s income is set by the state.
Right now the program is still in its infancy. The state is asking for a stipend of $18,000 annually. Of course, it’s not clear where the money is going to come from but it’s good to know that the state is doing its part to ensure the caretakers’ financial well-being. I think it’s a great idea because it shows the state has the desire and the ability to work with other government to solve this problem.
I’m sure there are people who think that the state is just looking out for the well-being of other people. But for most people, it’s no longer about “other people.” It’s about the financial well-being of the people who have to pay the cost of that care. And as we know, no one should have to pay for care like that.
What this means is that people who are eligible for the federal and state NCCF program will receive a stipend of $12,000 a year for 10 years. This will be paid to each foster care parent, regardless of their age or level of education. The government will also provide matching grants for foster care families who are in need of extra funds. The program is a great idea, but I don’t think it’s an effective solution.
My wife and I have been looking at it and we dont think it will work at all. I think the program will be a huge waste of money, especially since the foster care system is already in crisis and I dont think we can expect the amount of money necessary to change that. I also think it will be an easy way for the government to get a tax write off. I am also very worried about how the money will get spent.
Actually, I think a lot of people have been looking to use social welfare programs for years and it looks like they have made a lot of progress in trying to expand them. So I don’t think it’s a bad idea. It seems like a good use of government resources. However, I think it will be a huge waste of money, especially since the government does not have a strong track record of using it in this way. Also, I think it’s a lot easier than it sounds.
