It’s been a while since I have had an office, so I’ll be honest and say that I’ve skipped coming home to actually have a job. I do have a few clients that I work with that I get to see from time to time, and I’ll talk to them about anything that needs to be done. They are the ones who pay attention to what I have to say.
I think you should have skipped the office and just went home and started a business. That way you wouldn’t have to keep coming to work and being paid. The work your business will provide is a lot of value to you and you would get a more flexible schedule. You don’t have to come to work every day because you have to pay the bills or the rent, so you would have more time to do things that are important to you.
Well, this is the other part of the story. The office work, while important, is also a lot of work and is not always fun. The fact that you’re not going to be working there for very long is good news too, because you never know when you’re going to want to move on, or have someone else take over your job and it can get messy.
It is always good to be flexible because if you arent flexible at work, then you are always at risk of leaving and not making it very far in life. If you are the kind of person who is flexible, then you are very likely to be able to balance your work and your life and youd be very happy.
I think the flexibility thing comes from wanting to keep your options open. If you go to work for a while and you dont like it, you have the option to change your mind. If you are at a company that has a long work week and people can go home at any time, then youll have the flexibility to switch jobs. If you are at a company with some flexible hours, then you have the flexibility to go outside the office a little bit.
I think it is important to strike a balance between your work and your life, and this video from a recent interview with the CTO and co-founder of The White House Dining Room makes it clear that if you have to work very late, or very early, you should probably stay at home. This is because if you work at 8 PM (or 9 PM) youll have to be up at 4 AM or 5 AM to get the house ready for the next day’s events.
This does a disservice to the White House Dining Room because it suggests you should work your “lunch break” at noon. It’s also not a good idea because it will make it more difficult to get the food that your staff needs to eat, and it will also make it more difficult to work with people in the office.
I would argue that if I had a choice between working from home (which is good but can cause it to get messy) or working at a desk that’s not very clean, I would go home. Not only do I tend to get sick more easily due to the lack of proper hygiene, I get the opposite of the White House Dining Room experience because I don’t get to meet everyone who works there. I also have to work with people who have a different schedule.
But that’s not the only thing that makes working from home difficult. It’s also harder to make a good impression on coworkers at the desk job. Many people don’t bring their work to their desks so they have to send it off to a coworker who lives across town or somewhere else. This can make it difficult to work with people who might be reluctant to go to their desks because of the noise and mess.
I was in a similar situation a few months ago. I have a few coworkers that work from home. One of them is a woman who also works from home. She has a different schedule and takes a different route to work every time she returns from the office. I have to talk to her outside of work. Sometimes she takes me to lunch, other times we grab some lunch together, and other times we go to a movie in her home.
