The health benefits of probiotics are the most well-known. In the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that the consumption of probiotics has led to a 50% reduction in diarrhea and a 40% reduction in hospitalization for children with diarrhea.
But probiotics are not the only health benefits. Over a half a year ago we wrote about probiotics being used to treat the neurological disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder. We also wrote about using probiotics in cases of ulcerative colitis. These are just the two most well-known health benefits. The list goes on and on. In fact, probiotics are so widely used that they’re one of the few health benefits we’re not even aware exists.
For the most part, probiotics are a bit of a mystery. It gets confusing, but probiotics are not a cure-all of the human body. Instead they are generally used to prevent digestive problems. They have been used to treat gastrointestinal problems for years too, but in general probiotics are a part of the healthy bacteria diet you should be eating right now.
