poly meaning medical Poll of the Day

Poly means polyps, and these polyps are actually precursors to the dreaded early-stage cancer. However, the polyp in question doesn’t really have a name and is not often encountered in medical practice.

However, it is a form of cancer and is growing at a rapid rate, meaning that it is already well on its way to spreading. When a polyp is found, it is usually removed, but if it is causing major pain, the surgeon may recommend chemo.

In our society we tend to refer to polyps as “cancer”, when in fact, they are precursors to other cancer types and are not cancer in and of themselves. It is a form of cancer and is growing at a rapid rate. Therefore, it is recommended that polyps be removed and chemo applied.

Polyps are precursors to cancer, they are usually removed and then chemo applied. Polyps are not cancer in and of themselves.

Polyps are not cancer in and of themselves. Cancer is a disease that can be spread to other organs, as well as the skin. For polyps, it is recommended that they be removed and the cancer cells removed surgically. Polyps are not cancer in and of themselves.

Polyps, as with any other organ, can be removed surgically if they are deemed inoperable or causing undue discomfort. Since polyps can grow back after they are removed, they are also recommended that they be removed surgically. Polyps are not cancer in and of themselves. Cancer is a disease that can be spread to other organs, as well as the skin. For polyps, it is recommended that they be removed and the cancer cells removed surgically.

Polyps can be removed surgically. But to remove a polyp, a surgeon will take a sample of the polyp and use a biopsy to see if the polyp is cancerous. Since polyps only grow back after they are removed, it is recommended that they be removed as soon as possible. And since the polyps that are removed are only cancerous, it is also recommended that they be removed surgically.

poly meaning medical, I guess. I’m curious however if anyone knows what poly means in this case.

Poly means “many cells.” But there is a specific number of cells in the polyp that are cancerous. Since each polyp is removed, each polyp is removed from the patient. But the polyps that are removed are only cancerous. So they’re removed surgically.

But since the polyps are only cancerous, then it appears that polyps are removed to remove cancer. So, when a patient is treated for cancer, the removed polyps are removed anyway. Why would a surgeon remove one polyp and not the other? If the polyps were to be removed, then why would the patient be treated for cancer? So, the surgery to remove cancer is not for removing polyps, but removing polyps.
