I feel like sometimes when I think about the way I look for a long time, I start to think about my body and how it looks, and I can’t really stop this. It’s a constant reminder to me to take care of the beauty inside me.

We go to parties and talk to friends about our appearance. We go on makeup dates and talk to makeup gurus. We go on diet and diet diet. We go to weight loss and diet diet. We do everything we can to look better.
There are really only two ways to feel less self-conscious about your appearance: 1) Stop trying to be perfect, and 2) Stop comparing yourself to others. The first thing is easy. We can stop comparing ourselves, and stop making excuses for why we can never be satisfied with our looks, our body, or our self-esteem. The second thing is harder. Comparing yourself to others, and being insecure about your body, are both things that make you feel bad.
