I’ve always had a problem with feeling bad about things, or in this case, the fact that my dog’s happiness was a factor in her getting hit by a car. This dog is now a happy, healthy dog that I’ve taught to love herself, she loves me, and was getting herself a new home. My self-awareness has not taken a back seat to my empathy, and she will not ever be hit again.
I love my dogs so much that Ive decided to make the world a better place for her. In the future, I will be more careful about when I have her in my life. I just have to be aware of how I can use that awareness for good.
