This is no laughing matter. A lot of people are worried that cranberry juice might be a good remedy for yeast infection, and there is actually some evidence to that effect.
In fact, a study done in the Journal of Infectious Diseases, found that in some cases of yeast infection, cranberry juice can actually help. The conclusion of the study is that cranberry juice may help combat the yeast infection.
Well, we know that yeast infection is common, but what about when it’s not diagnosed? If it’s not diagnosed, the patient can be given the wrong treatment. The good news is that this doesn’t always happen. In a study conducted in the Journal of Family Practice, they found that when a doctor did not diagnose a yeast infection, they were only 13.2% sure that the patient would get better.
In other words, if the yeast infection is not diagnosed, the person could still get the wrong treatment. But in the case of a yeast infection, if the person drinks cranberry juice and doesn’t know it’s a yeast infection, then chances are that he wont get better. For more information on yeast infection and cranberry juice, see this article on the Mayo Clinic webpage.
Cranberry juice contains lots of vitamin C and is good for treating a yeast infection. However, the Mayo Clinic advises to only drink it on an empty stomach. If you are taking antibiotics, cranberry juice can be a nasty side-effect. It can cause a rash, nausea and diarrhea, plus it may cause a reaction to the antibiotics.
Yeast infections are very common in humans. This is the reason that the Mayo Clinic advises not to take antibiotics without first talking to your doctor. If antibiotics are not prescribed for you, you will most likely need to ask your doctor if cranberry juice is right for you. You can also look up your doctor and ask about the benefits and side effects of cranberry juice if you have any questions.
It is actually not that common for yeast infection to cause nausea and diarrhea. It is more common to have someone experience abdominal pain, nausea and diarrhea. If you have a yeast infection that causes the above symptoms, I recommend you stop taking antibiotics and talk to your doctor to find out if cranberry juice is right for you.
Yeast infection is one of those illnesses that can be difficult to treat and can sometimes be life-threatening. I’ve actually had a patient, a very young woman, who was diagnosed with yeast infection after having a miscarriage. She was on antibiotics, and she had suffered from the symptoms of the yeast infection for a long time. After the surgery she had her entire abdominal area examined for yeast infection because her pain was so severe.
The problem was that the antibiotics were not doing anything for the yeast infection, and her abdominal pain could only be relieved by some kind of invasive procedure. So the patient decided to try cranberry juice (or at least cranberry juice and cranberry juice). I’ve always thought cranberries were very sweet and delicious, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen a patient trying cranberry juice for a yeast infection. I wonder if it was the cranberry juice that was doing the trick.
In the case of the cranberry juice, the yeast infection, and the abdominal pain, the patient also had a severe allergy to the antibiotic, so she was allergic to the cranberry juice, even though it was supposed to contain only cranberries. So I wonder if cranberry juice was the real culprit here.
