This is a really difficult question to answer as there are so many factors that come into play. If you have ever had a friend that was bulimic and was trying to avoid their weight gain, you know how difficult it can be to eat in a healthy way. Bulimia is a mental disorder that is characterized by binge eating, and it is very common.
There are some studies that support a link between bulimia and cancer. One study showed that bulimics who underwent surgery to reduce their stomach size had a much lower rate of cancer. Another study showed that bulimics who had diabetes surgery had a much lower rate of cancer.
Bulimia is a vicious cycle that leaves people eating far too much and not exercising enough. You could just compare the amount of alcohol and cigarettes a person can drink or the amount of sugar and soda they can eat, but you can’t do this for bulimia. In both cases, you need to compare your diet with that of a healthy person. An excess of calories, sugar, and fat, as well as a sedentary lifestyle, is the cause.
Even if you don’t know that this is true, I’m wondering if the connection is coincidental or if it has any bearing on the development. Maybe someone has been eating a lot of sugar and fat for years without realizing it. At some point, a person’s metabolism slows down and their body decides they don’t need as much sugar as they used to, which might explain why they’re not obese, but leaner.
That sort of thing can be a factor in cancer. It is not common, but there is a case where a person eats a lot of sugar and then becomes obese. Also, there have been cases where an obese person has experienced a heart attack or stroke and was treated with weight gain surgery.
I’ve never seen a case where someone developed cancer from bulimia. So there is some possibility that people who eat a lot of sugar are at increased risk of cancer, but we don’t know for sure. However, there are a lot of people who have a high carbohydrate diet and are lean. For example, the British Heart Foundation recommends that all adults on a low carbohydrate diet (at least 80% carbohydrate) maintain a body weight of less than 30kg.
In fact, I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a case specifically of weight gain surgery causing cancer. The best I can tell is that there is some possibility that people who eat a lot of sugar are at increased risk of cancer, but we dont know for sure. However, there are a lot of people who have a high carbohydrate diet and are lean.
The British Heart Foundation is the UK’s largest charity for heart patients, with around 2 million members in the UK. They recommend that people who are overweight should maintain a body weight of less than 30kg. This means that for them, if you are on a low carbohydrate diet, you should at least eat 80% of your daily calories in healthy fats. This is a lot easier to do with a low carb diet, but there is no reason you cant do it with a high carbohydrate diet too.
It is well known that people who have very high levels of carbohydrate in their blood are more likely to develop Type 2 diabetes. It is also well known that people who have high levels of sugar in their blood are more likely to become anorexic. In a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (2004), researchers compared the levels of these two blood chemicals and found that people who had a high carbohydrate / low sugar ratio were less likely to become overweight.
It may be that high carb, low sugar diets don’t work as well for bulimics, or because sugar is more of a “nutrient” in the body so it doesn’t stimulate the same kind of activity. It is also possible that people with bulimia may not have sugar receptors in their brains, which would mean they’re less likely to get sugar-induced fat.
