The Decatur area has some of the most gorgeous and picturesque scenery in the Midwest. The city is also full of things for the entire family to do and visit: the Decatur Illinois Aquarium, the historic Decatur Mansion, the Illinois Lake, Decatur Opera House, and many other tourist attractions.

I have personally visited the Illinois Lake and I absolutely love all of the activities it has to offer. The Illinois Lake is a body of water surrounded by the beautiful countryside. If you want to see some beautiful images, then I recommend getting a book or two by the Lakeshore Library System.

In the same way that the water, the countryside, and the lakes are all part of the same lake, the city of Decatur is part of the same city. As such there is a lot of tourist activity happening in Decatur. It’s actually quite easy to find yourself in the center of town and find a park or something in the city. There are a ton of great parks in the city, so you should definitely check them out.
