The Decatur area has some of the most gorgeous and picturesque scenery in the Midwest. The city is also full of things for the entire family to do and visit: the Decatur Illinois Aquarium, the historic Decatur Mansion, the Illinois Lake, Decatur Opera House, and many other tourist attractions.
I have personally visited the Illinois Lake and I absolutely love all of the activities it has to offer. The Illinois Lake is a body of water surrounded by the beautiful countryside. If you want to see some beautiful images, then I recommend getting a book or two by the Lakeshore Library System.
